The design incorporates low density housing units of varying architectural character, the extension of neighborhood street patterns, and clearly defined public and private spaces into the program. All buildings will range in height from two to four stories. Family units are at grade, either flats or two-story townhouses. One bedroom flats are above grade on upper floors and are accessible by elevator. Single family houses will be clustered at the edge of the Village to form a transition in density from the neighboring streets to the central development area, and all units will have curbside parking for residents.
The creation of a clearly defined public realm (streets) and a private realm
(rear and front yards) help to make a seamless transition into the larger
neighborhood. As a measure of security and community-building, park and recreation
spaces are faced by houses and interior courtyards are gated.
